Rules and regulations

The LAU housing is your home away from home. We will do our best to insure that you as residents are comfortable, and will try to accommodate most of your individual needs. For the safety, security, comfort and wellbeing of all, residents must abide by the rules and regulations that are listed below:

  1. Residents are encouraged to use the residence hall facilities, which include the common rooms, lounges and computers. It is the resident’s responsibility to use the facilities responsibly. Damage other than regular “wear and tear” to any of the residence hall property or facilities will be charged to the resident’s account, according to rates set by the Business Office every year.
  2. Removal of any of the equipment or furniture is NOT allowed without prior approval of the residence hall supervisor.
  3. Maintenance personnel are available for all repairs needed. Fixing or attempting to fix a broken device or furniture yourself is NOT permitted.
  4. The residence halls will be closed during Christmas vacation as well as during semester breaks.
  5. All residence rooms should be vacated during the last three weeks of September for maintenance purposes. During this time, all belongings must be moved out of all rooms and stored in residence hall storage facilities if possible.
  6. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the residence halls.
  7. Alcoholic beverages may NOT be stored, consumed, or brought on to any residence hall premises.

  12. The lounge is open 24 hours-a-day for residents ONLY.
  13. The main gate (outer doors) of the residence halls are open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 12 am. midnight, except for Friday and Saturday nights when the closing time is 2 a.m. Any resident seeking to return later than as specified in curfew hours must secure parental or guardian permission by filling out the “Permission of Outstay” section in the application form.
  14. Residents are required to notify the residence hall supervisor of any outstay prior to leaving.
  15. Residents are required to regularly check the residence hall bulletin boards and website in order to be kept informed of all announcements and instructions. Residents must abide by the safety regulations at all times.
  16. Any medical emergency must be directed immediately to the residence hall staff.
  17. Residence hall staff may do random checks on resident’s rooms.
  18. Valuables should be kept under lock as we are not responsible for any lost item.
