Faculty, staff, alumni and students,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Lebanon has one of the highest breast cancer rates in the MENA region, especially among younger women.
LAU is calling for volunteers and runners to participate in the BLOM Beirut Marathon on November 12 to support this cause. Your participation fees will go to the ongoing breast cancer awareness campaign carried out by Courage to Fight Breast Cancer and the Alice Ramez Chagoury School of Nursing. LAU will cover 50% of your marathon participation fee.
Volunteers are needed for LAU’s two posts — a water/cheering station on the Manara Corniche (facing International College) and a finish-line tent. Volunteers will not only provide cheering and moral support, but will also hand out water to the runners so that they can stay hydrated and complete the race. Their presence is key. A meeting will be held with all volunteers ahead of time to divide tasks/roles.
Let us unite and run to save lives.
We look forward to seeing you at the race!
